U19AA Head Coach – Chris McPhee
Chris started playing Tier II hockey at the age of 11 for the WMAHA Cobras/Grizzlies until he was 17. Then he played a year of AAA for the PF Flyers, and played for the Golden Spike Jr. Wildcats. He played 4 years of high school hockey for the Salt lake Independent Bearcats. Was the assistant coach for the Utah Thunder Women’s C team for 4 years going to nationals all 4 years. The Utah Thunder Women’s C were two time national champions.
U19AA Assistant Coach – Stephanie Couzin
USA Hockey certified hockey coach with 6+ years of coaching experience and 25 years of playing experience, including four seasons of NCAA Division III hockey and one season of semi-professional hockey in Europe. She played for the Herlev Hornets Women’s Ice Hockey Club in Copenhagen, Denmark, attended College of the Holy Cross Crusaders in Worcester, Massachusetts the team was the ECAC Open Champions in 2009. She was Co-Captain 2008-2009. Named ECAC Open Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2009. Stephanie has worked as a co-coach of the New York Sled Rangers junior sled hockey team; Coach of Lady Hawks youth travel program for U8, U12, and U14 teams.
U19AA Assistant Coach – Jim Kasper
Growing up playing hockey in Minnesota, Jim has been involved with the game since he was 8 years old and was the goalie for his high school team. He has coached Tier 1 (AAA) for 4 years in Utah serving as Asst. Coach for the NW Regulators U18 team for 2 years and as Head Coach for the NW Regulators U14 team. His AAA team made it to the Finals at the Rocky Mountain District Championship in 2008. Jim has helped develop numerous players to Junior Leagues and to the NCAA Division 1 level. He is certified as a USA Hockey Level 4 Coach and is also a Level 3 official with USA Hockey.
Coaches must meet USA Hockey’s minimum criteria for Coaching Certification. Coaches and Volunteers who have contact with the players must submit to a background screening. Utah Amateur Hockey Association (UAHA) requires that all background screenings go through the UAHA vendor. UAHA’s vendor’s can be found on their website: http://www.utah-hockey.org/
The background screening must be submitted prior to contact with the players.
